Beginning very early,
Their chirping starts off each day;
Not with grumbling or complaining,
They go merrily on their way.
The weather…doesn’t disturb them,
For…if it’s sunny…they sing;
And, if it’s raining…they’re quiet,
You’ll never hear any complaining.
I’d like to think that they’re thankful,
For yet another day;
And, they’re praising…He who made them,
Yes, it’s their way to pray.
They always seem to start the day,
In the very best way;
Either with loud chirping of praise,
Or with quiet meditation.
We could learn a lot from them,
Yes, and get things into a right perspective;
To be happy for what we have,
Let ‘positive’ be our directive.
There’s always plenty of time left,
To take care of our ‘needs’;
Our ‘wants’…are another story,
From that bondage…we must be freed.
So, when we awaken…tomorrow,
Let’s join them…in their chorus;
It starts the day…on a happy note,
Up-beat and always joyous!
Let’s be HAPPY AS A BIRD,
For you know…it’s very catchy;
Before you know it…another will join you,
Let’s start…and make the whole world happy!
